Holidays in the Park: Sponsorships & Community Cheer

Get ready to celebrate the season! Lawton’s Elmer Thomas Park transforms into a sparkling wonderland of Christmas lights for the annual Holiday in the Park celebration.

This beloved community event, brought to you by the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and powered by a team of dedicated volunteers, is a non-profit venture designed to spread holiday cheer.

Best of all? Holiday in the Park is free to walk through! The lights turn on November 16th and shine bright until January 1st.

Experiencing Holiday in the Park

If you’re looking for a little holiday magic, Lawton’s “Holiday in the Park” at Elmer Thomas Park may be just the ticket.

Dazzling light displays

Elmer Thomas Park is transformed into an immersive Christmas light experience. The displays are carefully designed to be visually appealing and family-friendly, with themed areas and animated figures scattered throughout the park.

Activities and entertainment

Along with the lights, Holiday in the Park offers several activities to keep everyone entertained. The Winter Rink is open for skating ($10 per person with skate rental, $8 if you bring your own). Children 10 and under skate free on Tuesdays.

Train rides through the park are available for $5 per person.

The schedule also includes free movie nights and concerts throughout the holiday season.

Get Involved: Volunteer Opportunities

Holidays in the Park relies on dedicated volunteers to make the event a success. In fact, it’s a non-profit organization, so it’s run entirely by volunteers!

We need help with event setup, with running events, and with general operations. If you have some time to give, we’d love to have you!

We especially need volunteers for setup on October 25-27 and November 1-3.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please visit [website address] or contact [email address] for more information.

Calling all vendors!

Holiday in the Park offers a great chance for local businesses to connect with area residents, but vendor applications are juried by a review committee.

Vendor fees vary depending on the type of vendor you are. For example, food truck vendors pay 15% of their gross sales or a flat fee of $300 — whichever is higher. The fee for Kris Kindle Market vendors is $500.

Vendor applications have a deadline, so if you’re interested, don’t delay!

For more information about vendor opportunities, contact info@visitlawtonok.com or call (580)-355-3541.

“CANDYLAND” Parade

Get ready for the sweetest sight of the season! This year, our Holidays in the Park parade theme is “CANDYLAND,” so prepare for a sugar rush of creativity and fun!

Want to be part of the parade? Online registration opens October 15th and closes promptly on November 8th. Mark your calendars! We encourage everyone – community groups, businesses, schools, and families – to participate and showcase their most imaginative “CANDYLAND” inspired floats, costumes, and performances.

Don’t miss the entry deadline: November 8, 2024. Let’s make this year’s parade the most deliciously delightful one yet!
