LBUSD Lunch Menu: Your Guide to Healthy School Meals

The Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) is committed to providing students with nutritious and varied lunch options.

This page will help parents and students find the LBUSD lunch menu, along with other helpful info like dietary information and food service contacts.

How can I see the school lunch menus?

There are two easy ways to stay up-to-date about what’s being served for school lunch.

  • Sign up for weekly reminders via the Remind app to learn about daily options and any last-minute changes to the menu.
  • Visit the Nutrition Services section of the district website to see the meal calendar for elementary and K-8 schools, which gives you a bird’s-eye view of planned meals.

Dietary needs and options

The district makes information available online about the special diets it offers. Whether you’re looking for religious accommodations or simply have personal preferences, it’s good to know that vegetarian options are clearly marked.

Even if your child isn’t wild about the day’s main offering, there are other choices, such as yogurt and housemade granola. Depending on the location, your student may also be able to choose macaroni and cheese, vegan burgers, cheese pizza, vegetarian nachos, a bean and cheese burrito, a fruit and yogurt parfait, cheesy garlic bread, or even a PB&J. Fresh fruits and vegetables are available every day.

Other food service programs

Summer meal programs

If you’re looking for breakfast options during the summer months, the district generally offers a summer breakfast program from July to mid-August. Call the Food Services department at (516) 897-2084 to learn more.

Farm-to-School Initiative

Locust Valley Central School District participates in the Long Island Farm to School Program, which brings fresh, locally grown produce to your child’s lunch plate. For example, the district recently sourced fresh potatoes from a local farm.
